NEW YORK, N.Y. – US Representative Carolyn Maloney endorsed Rebecca Seawright, Democratic candidate for the 76th State Assembly District in Manhattan’s Upper Eastside and Roosevelt Island. In making the announcement, the prominent Congresswoman from the 12th Congressional District praised Seawright’s proven track record of championing women’s equality and the needs of working-class parents and seniors.

“Rebecca Seawright has the record, skill-set and tenacity to be an excellent legislator, and I am proud to endorse her for State Assembly in Manhattan’s District 76. Today’s announcement is the latest set of endorsements of Seawright, with Carolyn Maloney joining a series of highly regarded prominent leaders including marriage equality champion Edie Windsor, Roe v. Wade attorney Sarah Weddington, NYC Comptroller Scott M. Stringer, Public Advocate Tish James, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Senator Liz Krueger, Senator José M. Serrano, Assembly Member Dan Quart, City Council Member Daniel Garodnick, and Council Member Ben Kallos.

The democratic primary is on Tuesday, September 9th.
